yes it's a barbershop quartet. No the hand gestures aren't planned. No it is not barbershop harmony. Yes it IS acapella (no instruments) the hand gestures are just something that happens.....young95 you are right.. chrisisbass13 you are also right... drop it....
@young95 dude... Im 15, what the fuck do I know about barbershop? dont predict Im one of those snotty "experts" as you call them. Im just telling you that this is most likely a barbershop quartet. I dont care about the hand motions I just recognized the arrangement
@ChrisisBass13......you say toMAYto, I say toMAHto. BFD! Musically these guys are not bad, but I do not care for this group because I find the hand gestures used by the lead to be a distraction from the overall performance. I say that because they come across to me as calling attention to himself. And, as you, and the other self-proclaimed "experts" on Barbershop SHOULD know, if choreography (including gestures) is used in a performance, it is the believeablity of the performance that counts
@young95 From what I can see, it looks as if it's a Barbershop Quartet.
Tenor on the right. Bass next to the Lead. Barbershop alignment.
Lead singer is leading. Not trying to attract attention. Leads normally do more movements compared to other members of the Quartet. Watch any Barbershop Quartet and you'll see the Lead moving more than the others. It's not what should happen but it happens often.
Just checked the other Videos. carjam2005cc is correct. Its a Barbershop Quartet!
@carjam2005cc, first of all this is not "barber shop". It is acapella all male quartet. Second, I was doing mixed and all male quartets, choral, and barber shop when you were still in diapers, so don't lecture me on what is typically done, or not done when you perform. These gestures were not ones where the lead was "leading" the group......they were ones where he drew attention to himself, and are inappropriate in this style of performance.
those suits look a little big lol, but nice job! love the harmonies! i'm singin this for a performance for my choir in a few weeks :D but with the piano...

The key is different from the original arrangement. This one is in Eb and the Original is in F.
