@lilleeza0105 I know a girl who can hyperextend and she can still put her heels together. Even if you are hyperextended, you need to be able to put your heels together or it just looks terrible

@taw210 Well she can't put her heels together. Since her legs are hyper extended she can only put her thighs together.

@eda5936 In ballet pressure/resistance is used in plies:- press out as if pushing thru' hard treacle on the way down;squeeze inner thighs as if trying to crush a lump of granite that's stuck between the thighs on the way up! Not very elegant images, but that's how strength in lower half builds up. Ballerinas can't take shortcuts & do thigh-building gym exercise - imagine Odile/Odette with thighs like a weightlifter! Only small children do simple knee bends for a while, then real work must start!

Not really. Your thighs may feel the burn after a while, but the act of bending in and of itself doesn't hurt.

@eda5936 what do you mean ? everyone can bend their knees ... what's hard is the turnout (= action to rotate legs : the feet are not parallel) but it doesnt hurt to bend no

when you bend, don't your knees hurt, like in lunges or squats?

@balletlin so many people say that. and some of my asian friends would show off to that. but in reality if u live ur life being so serious in watever u do thats great, but just dont get carried away. try to E N J O Y
