@KaptSonic22 ...somebody changed it to "be-in" crowd, but that is wrong...it IS the "Bleeding" crowd...that is what was written and what is being sung...BLEEDING...
-
You were right the first time...it is the BLEEDING crowd...not the be-in crowd.

How can people be so heartless
How can people be so cruel
Easy to be hard
Easy to be cold
Sweet music ........ from a time of innocence and war .

the message is good today as is it was then

@jlmusicfan57 No one else could put it better than how you went & described it. Well said!

The lyrics to this song are still powerful today forty years after the song first came out. To bad the youth of today are not exposed to such thought provoking songs as this classic; considering all of the stuff, (violence with guns, hate crimes, gangs, etc.) that exist in the schools of America.

great sounding

@tessiemike1 Especially people who care about strangers...who care about evil and social injustice.

@ammittei easy to say no....who caare about evil.......how can ppl be so heartless?
I'm normally not a nit-picker, but in the lyrics, it's not a bleeding crowd, it's a Be-In Crowd. That was a term from the times this song came from. To be a part of the Be-In Crowd meant you were just trying to fit in with the boring mainstream of the time and not really being yourself. Something like that. My apologies if someone's already commented on this. It's not that big of a deal :)

@jennykennypants From Wikipedia:
vocalist Danny Hutton's then-girlfriend June Fairchild suggested the name after reading a magazine article about indigenous Australians, in which it was explained that on cold nights they would customarily sleep in a hole in the ground whilst embracing a dingo, a native species of wild dog. On colder nights they would sleep with two dogs and if the night was freezing, it was a "three dog night".
