... not even a proper princess carry (yes... that is a technical term.) Your pinky and the pad of your thumb (connected to the palm) form the base platform for the top plate. In classical fine dining, no more than two plates can be carried at a time. This however has been augmented to allow up to three. Most high end restaurants will allow servers who can carry dishes around the dining room without disturbing the presentation to carry 3. Otherwise... Buddy up and learn military service.

carrying 2 cups...i get the idea, but once u have to cups in one hand how do u pick up a 3rd with the other hand?....yeah....might as well stick to one hand = one cup

fyi, the video is meant for amateurs who are at a cafeteria or buffet that doesn't have trays...it's not really meant to be professional training. I DID, however, carry plates this way when I was a waitress, sometimes with 3 plates on my left arm and a 4th plate in my right hand. I learned the cup-carrying technique from a friend who worked at TGI Fridays (servers weren't allowed to use trays there back in the early 90s). I use it myself at home all the time.
