  • If you like ADtranz take a look at me. Have you seen AEG diesel multiple unit before? My favorite electric locomotive is SIEMENS KRAUSS-MAFFEI 120 HellasSprinter, like Spanish 252 but not so strong.

  • Hello,

    I like your videos.

Yes, I have seen the AEG's, and I liked a lot their horn.

About 120, I think yes, they are very similar to 252. Right now the electric locos I like the most aren't the EuroSprinter (252 or 120), but the TRAXX from Bormbardier. Please search for 'Renfe 253' and you will see them.

Is the whole line Athens-Thessalonica now electrified?. I remember travelling on it with class 220 diesel locomotives. Very nice line.

  • @teles333 Good morning. Only the line LARISSA-THESSALONIKI-IDOMENI(FYROM border) and a little part of ATHENS SUBURBAN RAILWAYS are electrified. The trains from ATHENS to THESSALONIKI change locomotive in LARISSA. Take a look at my "Train 500,501 or 502" videos.

  • I have seen these videos. Thank you.

But the total time between Athens and Thesaloniki are maintained taking into account that there is a locomotive change?. As I have told you I travelled once in this like and the whole journey was with a 220 locomotive.

    Thank you again

  • In Greece there are both ADtranz and Bombardier locomotives. ADtranz:A471-496(220 001-0026).Bombardier:220-027-036.

  • Thank you for the remark. I liked a lot the locomotives when I was in your country. I also wanted to see historic streamlined ALCO's, like the A302, but unfortunately I could not. In Spain we has the same type of locomotives, but painted in green with yellow lines instead of blue. In Spain the where called Renfe 316 ad also 318 series, just in case you would like to know.
