The Shreveport Times sat down with local residents to discuss the Civil Rights Moment following the 2008 election of President Barack Obama. The Rev. E.E. Jones, pastor of Galilee Baptist Church since 1958, is considered a patriarch of Shreveports struggle. His daughter, Carolyn Jones, was among the first children to integrate Caddo Parish Public Schools. His granddaughter, Chloe Haygood, works in the office of Mayor Cedric Glover.
