  • Photography certainly can capture that essence of human reality as can any media used skillfully. However the camera is so tied to the details of reality. Only when drawing can the artist leave in or leave out things seen or imagined or felt, or emphasize elements directly as working. I love my cameras but I am aware of the advantages and limitations of both photography and drawing but I know which is easier to use to convey the inner world and which is easier for conveying the outer world.

  • Great Sketch Club, amazing studio, great lighting and music.

  • Life drawing as a meditational experience. Wonderful thought. Inspirational.

  • Simply lovely.

Your comments on photography are particularly astute. Artists are the ones able to portray the inner life spirit that photographs often seem to lack. Although in fairness the best photographers seem capable of capturing an essence of life too.

    Well Done Tony x MM
