Yes that's right, some 94-96 caprice 9C1 cars came with a 4.3L L99, it was optional, yes most governments have ordered them with the 5.7 LT1 but again were optional. To check this the L99 has a different alternator and has a "W" as the 8th character of the VIN where an LT1 caprice has a "P" as the 8th character of the VIN. This should put this argument to rest

Yeah I have check the vin number and a W is the is the 8th character. So I truly have the L99. But the 4.3 is great on gas!

Thanks man for clearing the air for me. I keep telling everybody that I have a police car but it's a 4.3 (L99), but everybody keep saying that it's a 5.7. And the alternator part is right as well. The 4.3 has a 105 AMP, and 5.7 has the 140 AMP.

damn for one, i agree with alot of this feedback, old cop cars have the 9c1 (#1) and #2... old cop cars are not "caprice classics" there just the caprice and there is no such thing as a "caprice ss" only impala ss's and caprica impala clones like mine.. if you go to my video... i cloned mine.. but im keeping it hotrod. fu*k a 22" 24"... come try n beat me on your gay ass 24"s or 26"s... Well RosenG1982 I did my research and my car is actually an ex-cop car...with the L99(4.3 liter) not a 9c1! And on to your #2 my car is a what ummm...Caprice Classic! And for all of you guys that are so sure they know all about Chevys...look to the middle east they are releasing a Chevy Caprice SS. It doesn't look like the Chevy bubble but its a Caprice SS so I'm sorry RosenG1982 you are just wrong in this case!

nice sound man, got the same sit on mine, you put headers on it also? i got the gen 2 tri-y headers and that sh*t is SICK. also got the exhaust dumps right after the front tires for louder sound. but i like how the title says 1995 caprice but you say 1996 lol
