If You Guys Like Roleplaying games and MUDS you should try w-w-w-gemstone3-com
It's the best MUD in the entire World. Plus they give you a whole month to play it for free and if you don't like it then you don't have to pay anything! =)

if you have 3d model resources and read some 3d documentation plus using an easy engine like jME it may be not too hard, but not easy neither I think. If using an approach closer to opengl (lwjgl) then it's much harder I think.

Yes, but don't forget to check JMonkeyEngine and LWJGL too which were used to create it. Also check the 2nd video of JCRPG on youtube too. Looks better I think. :-)
