LordAlldara, What version was this built in?
AgentRenamon 3 months ago
@AgentRenamon Hmm probably Beta 1.5ish given that I made this about 6 months ago. Now with Pre-release 6 out and squids swim up not all of it is applicable.

Like 4 squids spawned in the water around my underground farm so i decided to make a big tank under ground is their a certain depth or something that restricts their spawning at all?
hayitsWILL98 3 months ago
@hayitsWILL98 As far as I know they are able to randomly spawn in any water block. The greater the number of water blocks the greater the chance for them to spawn in it. I am not certain the exact algorithm used to calculate this though. It does take a long time especially now for game to check on whether to spawn them.

Tried building one and squids doesnt seem to appear. Does it have to be in a certain place (dunno, some possible spaw point) or just anywhere?

@MilloBlackWolf I guess I could have described 'landlocked' a bit better. Basically you want to be 200ish blocks or so away from any major water sources. Squid do seem to take longer to spawn than other passive mobs as well. At least that is how it happens for me. More research has gone into other mob spawning so its still a work in progress or understanding squids. Hope this helps. Also a tip, dry up any other water pools around.
