Hey guys

wulfe/metalcharter here bringing you another great song, and THE FIRST STRAIGHT UP BLACK METAL SONG IN ANY RHYTHM GAME EVER!! YAY!!!!

These guys are from Hungary, and they play a great brand of pummelling melodic black metal which utilizes all the hallmarks of the genre (tremolo picked guitars, crazy bass lines, and frantic blastbeats), but also add some unique touches to the genre (in this particular track we have some clean vocal phrases, as well as the awesome addition of the trombone in the backing section).

With this one I was very happy to be able to get away with charting all the double bass - the quickest bass parts are right at the beginning, and since I have occasionally managed to combo that whole section using one pedal, I'm confident that it is doable, and should be a fun challenge for the elite level drummers out there.

This track is off their recent (late 2009) album "March for Glory and Revenge" released on Vic Records, and it's sure to challenge the stamina of even the best plastic instrument bashers out there.

It is currently available only on the Xbox 360 and only through the Rock Band Network at a bargain 80MSP.

Anyhow - enjoy, and all comments are welcomed

  • Double bass is badly charted at like 1:00, you only charted half of it.

  • @jjjmanyo

Nope - I have the drum stems - I charted all of it - but even if it was double the speed, it would be impossible to play with a single pedal for that length of time, and would have to be thinned down to this anyhow.

  • Excellent chart AND song.

Not sure I'd call it straight up black metal since it's got all the melodic flourishes, but that's just my subgenre snobbiness coming out, LOL.

  • @zgates

Yeah - perhaps "straight up black metal" was a little misleading - it's certainly not as raw as Darkthrone/Burzum/Satanic Warmaster or any of that stuff - but hey - I still think the song kicks ass - I guess personally I prefer the more melodic sub-subgenres :P (although I do <3 some of the early Satanic Warmaster stuff as well)

  • I like how the song is autoplayed to be an auto FC, but the score doesn't amount to even five stars.I don't think it's right, but it's kind of funny.

  • @trazac

Actually, to the best of my knowledge, all songs when autoplayed will come out to around 4.5 *s - the star cutoffs are all worked out mathematically based on the number of notes, and all the (many) songs I've tested in autoplay like this have never 5*'d :)

  • now i want rock band 2. and great charting btw. i just wanna play guitar and bass. it looks fun.

  • Wow only a $1 for this song? Stellar buy, fantastic song.

  • That song is amazing. :D

I bought it last night. =]

Those really fast chords are going to be the death of my guitar's strum bar though, lol.

There should be more Bornholm in Rock Band.

  • black metal in rock band = EPIC WIN

  • @jjjmanyo

Snares sound a bit like bass hits. That is a fact of life.

  • Depending on the bass, I'm pretty sure an FBFC of this song will happen. I wonder how many points it would score if overdrive is deployed?

I'm not sure if Harmonix and Activision have a term for it:

*The blasts at 0:53 contain 34 gems on the instruments alone per quarter note (Assuming x1.5 on bass), amounting to up to 27200 points per quarter.

*1:57 is around 40-48, and the outro is around 37-45.

Not sure if people care, but this is a chart showcase anyhow, so I figured I'd note that.

  • @jjjmanyo Actually, 0:14 is more notable as they most likely charted two bass pedals for one foot.

  • @blackheart103 I completely agree, but it'd be nice if we could play their songs. But not at the disrespect of the bands, of course.

  • @vampirereconsint Yeah, I know what you mean, but a lot of them wouldn't want the exposure.

  • @nitch543 Mastodon would more than likely be DLC, or on-disc. WMG definitely wouldn't let him.
