As part of our "Blimpduino" open-source autonomous blimp project, we needed to get much better vertical power for altitude hold than the toy RC blimp we're modding allowed. The answer was to turn the standard differential thrusters (props) into "vectoring" thrusters, so they can control up and down along with right and left. The video shows how. Lego parts, as always, provide the perfect prototyping tools!

  • Wouldn't the weight of the servo cancel the benefits of taking off a motor?

  • MMmmm, I think i've just found some use of my AirHogs StormLauncher motors, they are thrust vectored.....
