This groove is hard for me because the bass drum hits simultaneously with the snare in a segment of the groove and it is very unorthodox in conventional grooves. I have to work on this one. This video series is way underrated and I wish they re released it on DVD!

I studied with many Berklee instructors, however none would compare Alan to Gary. Both are very similar in their teachings, actually ,though I didn't study with Dawson. One of my ex- instructors studied with both.
