The intent of this video is to illustrate the importance of "back-up plans".
It is my practice to personally wire anyone wearing a lav mic. I wire these mics in the "on" and "unmuted" settings; to control them from my soundboard. Through the fault of nobody, the lav mic on our officate was jarred at some point prior to the start of this ceremony and muted.
That mic was intended to carry a majority of the load of the ceremony sound.
There was triple redundancy present in mics to insure the vows would be broadcast. There were lav mics on the officate and the groom along with an area (border/shotgun) mic placed behind the white pillar.
With no back-up in place of that main mic on the officiate, none of this would have been preserved.
