  • Pop Stars , Footballers, greedy M.P,s all get knighthoods... The men who started from scratch with nothing and gave there time, money and effort to make this happen should all be given some sort of award if there is any justice... They and the engineering skills need to make "Tornado" make me proud to be Britsih .... if any of you guys who made it happen ever read this thanks you for making me me feel so proud...

  • @XXXIRXXX In this clip it was doing about 75 mph but its top speed is 100 mph. Sadly she will probably never be allowed to do that due to main line restrictions on steam locos, new built or otherwise. Having said that she was reported to be doing over 90 mph through Thirsk on the return leg of this trip.

  • @43055875 National Express funded this test run, hence they get their name on the tender. Only fair really.

  • HOW FAST DOES THAT FUCK THING CAN GO???!!!

  • @TyneBridge56 "Proud to be British" Well sure...absolutely.

But the average onlooker should take a moment to just be proud of being human.

  • @TyneBridge56 see the fruits of all those years of work! I second what you said to the builders, and also, I thank them for allowing me to experiance a steam locomotive I'd have never seen in the flesh before without them. Fantastic job, and with that all in mind, it makes seeing it fly past that bit more special.

  • @TyneBridge56 Could'nt agree with you more! When my dad told me the story of Tornado, I was absolutely gobsmacked that something like that had been done, not only that a group of enthusiasts had gone to the time and money to do so, but that it hadnt somehow been banned under some health and safety juristiction! Not that I believe it shouldve of course, its just that you know how things are nowadays, any sort of fun or free spirit or imagination is frowned upon...but what a fantastic way to

  • It says National Express on the Tender.

  • Makes you proud to be British. Made the hairs stand up on my neck too!

  • No way 75mph. Easily faster.

  • what does it say on the tender?
