Video answer to a question on my packing a shelter half halves video. I am wearing my LBV Load bearing vest this will work the same way with a LBE Load Bearing Equipment. The weight of the ruck is at 42 lbs right now when fully loaded it should be around 60 lbs. I didn't wear the butt pack but it will also be a part of the load in the future.

  • how do you wear your waist belt of you MOLLE with the LBV? mine gets in the way.

  • @Tenorsaxplaya77 , get a 360 deg. photo or video of you wearing it then send me a message and I'll look it over.

  • U still make videos,

  • @roseman54metallica , yes just been busy trying to keep up with all the events in the world.

  • I am a fan of the Alice pack, but I hope that you don’t plan on carrying a shelter half roll. It is much heavier than other shelter options, it leaks easily, and it is bulky to carry. I would rather carry more weight in “beans and bullets”. The only time that I ever carried a shelter half roll was in training. In an Infantry unit, we never carried those. I recommend an extra poncho and some 550 cord or maybe even a subdued color civilian two person tent in lieu of that shelter half roll.

  • @1bornsurvivor , it's a lot more bulky then I would want but I do like how durable it is.. I only have about 15 miles to make it where I need to be. Not like I'm going to be moving all over the place. If it comes to me moving around a lot sure I'll ditch it along with a few more things.. I'd rather have too much and drop extra if I need too.

  • Thats a nice well rounded setup you got there dude.

If it were me, I'd swap the shelter half for a small synthetic tent (smaller lighter and most importantly mosquito-proof lol), and probably add some equipment to the front/sides of the belt to bring the weight forward a bit, get the med kit off the shoulder strap and put it in one of the packs outer pouches then replace it with either a radio or a compact navigation kit.

  • @Zaharkl maybe try camp dry or just bag your gear in a waterproof bag or bags

  • @PR4470 Camo don't always mean war. I wear camo Everyday and have done so for as long as i can remember, i am an civilian ( I only wear camo pant's and olive green m65 jacket ) ( the jacket i skip if i am gonna go shopping, lol. ) Anyway, Military clothing is nice but full camo is NOT nice at all, if you are a soldier, sure fine. But civilian wearing Full camo... No way, you are gonna be SO darn hated! Don't wear full camo if' you're not a soldier :P ó

  • @Zaharkl

Purchase the waterproof bag inserts. They come in small med and large. These liners will keep things dry.

  • Thx

  • how do you water resist an alice? mine soaks water like no tommarow.

  • @Tenorsaxplaya77 in the infantry we never wore the gay waist belt

  • @PCTthruhiker2013 what do yopu mean by build a fire for them? ON? VERY CLOSE? UNDER?
