Emily's speech was really really corny. But at that time Elizabeth didn't know that Em had cancer and was dying. But still that was a terribly written speech lol.

Natalia Livingston is like first day out of acting school in this scene. Can't put all the blame on her, though, the writing for this speech is embarassing. "That first chilly morning in the fall when you wish you brought a sweater". What? LOL.

Maybe this was why I couldn't get into NL's Emily. I know she didn't write that speech, and she got better as time when on, but this monologue was very grating. I'm surprised Liz didn't ask her to shut up!

This speech makes no sense--what were the writers smoking at the time they created these lines for Emily? Feel sorry for NL, since she actually had to say such stupid lines. I don't think even Natalia could have turned this garbage into gold.

I agree--the speech was really weird, and didn't fit into the scene at all. What were the writers thinking (it looks like they were the ones on crack, not the character)? I don't think even NL could have made that crazy speech work.
