On September 18, 2006, the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), in Baltimore, MD, presented a program to honor "Constitution Day." One of the lecturers at the splendid event was Professor Jonathan Turley of George Washington U. Law School. His talk focuses on the architect of that magnificent document, James Madison of Virgina, and its importance, vis a vis the ongoing abuses of power by the Bush-Cheney Gang.

  • Jonathan Turley is a true American hero.

  • The Presidency greatly increased its power relative to the other 2 branches.

    1. Signing statements have allowed the President to disregard federal laws.

    2. The War Powers Act permits the President to order acts of war without a Congressional declaration of war.

    3. Executive Orders allow the President to issue sovereign proclamations, many of which have established agencies and activities operating outside Congressional oversight.

    4. National Security apparatus (CIA, NSA, etc).

  • Had him for torts last year--great prof

  • Stand up my fellow Americans for what our four fathers believed in justice and liberty! Vote Ron Paul 08"
