@gal5131 - Well your husband was a bastard. I understand if you have a hang-up with men at the moment but most people, male and female, stay with their sick partners. You just got doubly unlucky getting cancer and then finding out what a bastard your husband was.
I hope you beat the cancer and your current/next partner is a better man. Good people are out-there, you just have to find them and cling on to them when you do.

@DoggiestyIe - Yes, that is what I meant. I got cancer and he walked out the door.
Bless you for being a good man and staying with your wife.

@gal5131 What you mean is you know your husband didn't stay with you when you became sick or maimed.
I helped nurse my wife for 2 years until lymphoma took her away from me. I loved her even more with each passing day and the thought of leaving her never occurred to me. Anyone who leaves a sick partner is sick themselves but sick in the head instead of the body.
Only a fucktard would leave a sick partner.

I don't blame her. Let's get real, dudes. Don't even tell me you would stay with your wife if she became sick or maimed.
I know you wouldn't.

i went to the laundromat for the first time since i got in this dammit wheelchair. sitting out front, smokin' cigarettes & waitin' on my warsh to, this song was going through my head as well as thoughts of my sweetie and how we've gone out seperate ways recently, plus feeling pretty damn sorry for myself cuz good gravy, what woman would want some cripple for a partner O_O
it is so hard not to be negative. john trudell said "empty arms are obvious reminders of empty arms". love done gone to town

this song makes me remember you at your best, brings tears in a sad way because I miss you, and more so we all do, and grandma more then misses you! RUBY is lost without you! love you grandpa!

@bigbiscuit100 ok, i see your point. just let me go off and defend my country and come back to a cheating bi-atch :(. she and her suitor will greet my paralyzed, crawling self to their doom. mark it down! ;p (as i wheel myself off to a better place)

@ultrakool I agree...but the winter shadow on the wall, which is the sign to him that she's about to leave for strange men, is symbolic to him of his situation. i would think watching that shadow and knowing what it would bring would be a very low and lonely feeling. that's all i meant by it.
-
@bigbiscuit100 a woman who left you cuz you're legs are bent and paralyzed in an unnecessary asian war, is prolly somewhat more lonely inducing..i'm just saying
-
yea, but if ur merried, you do not go off and f**k around on the one you love
"the shadow on the wall tells me the sun is going down" are probably the loneliest words in this classic.

Such a terrible, bitter song, but so beautiful and sad in it's expression. If I could move I'd get my gun and put her in the ground is an awful thing to say,but the narrator is living a desperate life and has lost his sanity. His country has forgot him and so has his wife. It happens every day.
