Late Edition: Howard Kurtz Discussion on Media Bias

This bit of navel gazing by Howard Kurtz, John Dickerson, Keli Goff and Debra Saunders is pretty astounding. Kurtz starts off with what looks like their new talking point. The media loves Biden with absolutely no facts given to back up that assertion. Fits right in with their phony the press loves Obama meme when 78% of the press coverage of Obama is negative. Dickerson goes right along with it while taking a shot at Biden at the same time. Then we've got Saunders playing the concern troll for Hillary Clinton when Clinton herself did not want to be VP because she didn't want to go through the vetting process. Then Dickerson is trying to explain the press' horrid tabloid style reporting they've been doing for weeks instead of maybe getting into some real discussions on actual policy differences between the candidates. And then we get the really outlandish remark in this clip by Keli Goff saying that giving McCain free media coverage of his ads is okay....because it's NEWS! No, it's not. It's doing exactly what Kurtz says it is. Giving them free air time for ads that should have cost them millions of dollars. They then go on to trivialize McCain not being able to remember how many houses he has. It's important if he actually could not remember and if his age is an issue and it speaks to the hypocrisy of his campaign calling Obama elitist when he's one of the richest people in the country. And it is not the same as them mocking John Kerry for wind surfing. John Kerry was not out there calling George Bush and elitist in campaign ads.
