The Reactors were a San Bernardino / Los Angeles / Punk Rock band from from 1978-82. Pioneers of DIY producing their own artwork, booking, photos, and records. They released a Self Titled 7" in 1978 and a full length LP 'World War Four' ( WW4 ) in 1980. Both were self recorded & self produced and released on their own label Nuclear Waste Records. Really amazing female fronted punk rock in the vein of The Avengers and X with chorus melodies similar to the Misfits, X-Ray Specs, and Classic '77 Political Punk. I'm guessing if this band had larger label backing they would have been a household name by this point and been regarded as another one of the great Punk bands of the early wave LA scene.
I lived in Riverside & saw The Reactors play several times. Our little "group" would often take trips to SB & hang-out at Dash's Apt in SB. I often wonder what happened to Dash, the lead singer. Anyone know?

This is a killer record!! I've been collecting for 25 years and this one did not show itself too often. This is my "Bigfoot". My "Unicorn". Glad to say that my hunt ended about a year ago, giving one copy a permanent, happy home."It's Hard To Be A Rebel" has got to be my favorite though. You should be publicly stoned for letting one of these go! HAHAHA!! I hear rumors of a Reactors compilation CD soon....
