A folk song of the Hualan Yao Minority people of Jinxiu Yao Autonomous Region, a remote and small county of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in Southern China. "Ji-Dong-Nuo" is the name of a quail which sings beautiful tunes when it is happy. It is said that, a long time ago, there was a girl who loved singing. However, she became sad when, after she married, her father ordered her to stop singing. Because of her sadness, she was divorced and sent back home by her husband. On the way back home, they heard the happy bird singing up on the hill, the girl changed her mood and started to sing a beautiful song. Her husband was deeply moved and loved her as before.
