FFXII Eleven-Chain Quickening

Chain of eleven Quickenings with Fran, Balthier and Ashe.

I'm sure some people have gotten more, but it takes some intense concentration to pull off a good chain.

When trying to do one, it helps to have everyone with full MP. The moment you start the chain, find x, square or triangle and make sure your thumb never leaves that space. Chaining works on the basis that everyone in your current attacking party can work together regardless of where they are on the field (some status conditions will prevent a character from participating in a quickening like berserk or sleep).

When you aren't given an option (ie: there won't be any indication to press a button and all names will remain greyed out) press R-2 but just fast enough until you catch a command again. Doing it too fast will just waste your time and you'll miss out on linking another chain. What you are doing basically is giving yourself another shot at a quickening every time you press R-2. The second you catch another command, press that (x, square or triangle) and do it again. The first time charges it and the second one activates it for use.




Hopefully this clears up how to do effective quickenings. They can be pretty powerful once you get used to chaining them properly.

If by "buy," you mean using your LP to purchase it on your license board, then yes,. The one you buy depends on which character's board you buy it on.

Each character has a max of three Quickenings to purchase on their board. There are 18 total, but once one has been purchased, it's removed from view on other people's boards. (but it's free to use for that character you 'purchased' it for.)

lol i cant even use a quickinng. im a nub at that game. like, i bought 1 with the liscense points but i cant use it its just grey when i press mist. someone help?

Well here are some tips: Make sure the person you bought it for is in your active party and that they have full MP before starting the chain. You can tell because the MP bar will look gold when full.
