NASA released this animation showing the cycle of an entire day at the Moon's south pole, based on radar images which gives the height and depth of the landscape there.

Keep your eyes on the craters at the bottom: see how some are always dark, all day long? Scientists speculate there may be water frozen there, deep in the shadow, where sunlight never reaches. No one really knows, but we'll find out soon enough when we go back to the Moon!

  • "But you haven't answered his point STM - about the A10 edited footage that according to NASA affiliates SCFs, was broadcast live and unedited."

I'm supposed to believe the word of a moon nut that it was even edited in the first place???

What the hell do you think I expect a quack to say?

As high an opinion as you have of yourselves, rest assured it lies only amongst yourselves, as I proved your own ignorance in space matters last time Mike. You dont get a second chance.

  • "Are you an official NASA spokesperson or just another space geek loser on U-T spweing his unwanted opinion ?"

    ;)

On the contrary, I appear to be the only man here educated properly, instead of reading the top ten quack websites and picking the stupidest one I could find as my unbiased source.

Tell me, how much radiation is actually FATAL to a human?

How much radiation is in space?

Since I went to school, I know the answers.

Since you didnt, you're going to fake your way out.

  • fake and game

  • god's not real; get over it

  • Anything frozen is a solid and acts like any ol' rock. Ice on the moon would act like any other rock and as long as it isn't heated up enough to become a liquid (or evaporate) it will remain like a rock.

NASA is sending up a probe called LRO to chart the moon and look for frozen water in the deep dark and cold craters on the moon.

  • "For someone who loves facts, you seem to hate technology." Quite the contrary. I'm currently studying Information Technologies in college. Don't make stupid assumptions about people you don't know.

"When you look at the Moon, do you see it as being rightside up or upside down? " I don't see how this question is relevant. In space there is no such thing as "upside down" or "right side up". It's only for cultural reasons that we see north as up and south as down. Clarifiy your statements.

  • For someone who loves facts, you seem to hate technology. Facts are only how we perceive them to be.

What's upside down to you, might be rightside up to me. What's half empty to you, might be half full to me.

The world is full of conspiracies. I bet you harbor alot of conspiracies, but in your mind, you perceive that you are doing the right thing. When you look at the Moon, do you see it as being rightside up or upside down?

  • and in that short interval you will freeze to death.. If you miraculously hadn't already..

  • I can see spots where it is always dark

    lets me hope =P

  • Science used to be a place where I could relax and ignore politics and controversies and shit that plague the human world. It was an escape for me. Facts were my best friends.

But then I got internet access....

And now I can't view any information about any good scientific topics that interest me without running into some stupid psuedoscience asshole selling his stupid snake oil about conspiracies or some bullshit.

Fuck you conspiracy theorists. Fuck you HARD!

    You killed my inner-child.

  • How could water be frozen there, if there is no atmosphere?

  • Hmmm....

One of those peaks is in light for quite a bit longer than the others......a peak of eternal light or almost eternal light maybe?
