Today, the House is considering the final American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, to save and create jobs, get our economy moving again, and transform it for long-term growth and stability. The landmark legislation is the first dramatic new investment in the future since the creation of the interstate highway system a half century ago. Education and Labor Committee Chairman George Miller spoke on the floor in support of the bill.

  • How about we prove the Republicans wrong. Roll up our sleeves and bring this country back to the technological and innovative nation we once were before Bush sold everything away.

  • You must have missed the news reports on the writing of the bill. Obama didnt WRITE the bill. Pelosi and cronies did, and they wrote it WITHOUT republicans. The Senate conferenced WITHOUT republicans. Geeze, please educate yourself before you post. Quit being a dolt. You wont look so ignorant the next time you reply to a post if you have ALL of the facts. Not just the few fed to you by pelosi's propaganda machine. Sheep are not attractive.

  • I like information, here is some. 61% of Californian voters voted for Obama 37% for McCain, thats 55 electorial votes. Both Senators Feinstein and Boxer are Democrat and 34 of 53 Representatives are Democrat. I mean Speaker Pelosi has controlled the 8th District since 1987, Hollywood is very liberal. With that control just like with the "stimulus" bill if becomes hard to block legislation Regardless of governor. I never said is WAS a 1 party state I said liberals want a 1 party system.

  • reason my last statment added about the 30,000 a year because they work their ass off for nothing and go from job to job because they didnt try getting c's and d's is not smart and i dont feel to bad for those people.

  • oh yeah, California is such a 1 party system, what with it's REPUBLICAN GOVERNOR.

Is your brain immune to information? Is that the problem?

  • Your joking this stupid whole fucking school thing is stupid because some people dont want to do it they think if im not going to collage and im going to graduate and work a job 40 hours make 30,000 dollars. they then go on welfare and live off that doing nothing because we let them.

  • How can you assume to know my thoughts on whether McCain would win, thats is just moronic . How are you so sure that this"Stimulus" will give Dems 65 senators? Isn't that nieve? A stimulus in is something that will jolt the economy, a short term solution to reverse a downward trend. Between 66% and 75% of taxpayer dollars won't be spent until after 2010 in this bill. Not stimulus. Within 2 weeks a payroll tax cut could be in effect giving the working class more money, Short term low cost.

  • Your liberal blubber is exactly why I am conservative. If you want to see how well Democrats do on thier own look at California. I know Liberals want a 1 party system, I know they want to expand government. That is why i continue to fight thier policies, you know what a 1 party system in a country run by governernment is called? Socialism, and that has never worked.

  • republicans are now the party of "NO"! NO compassion NO principles NO respect for our Constitution NO concern for those less fortunate NO problem with starting wars NO plans how to end their wars NO intelligence NO integrity ... Basically NO heart NO mind NO soul And with this as their platform, shortly they will ... NO LONGER BE AROUND!
  • This is a spending bill, not stumulus. The Democrats want all thier pet projects. Pelosi reinserted 500 million for STD prevention.500 million taxpayer dollars for something that doesn't create jobs or stimulate the economy, Rasmussen poll says 65% of Americans say they don't want this bill or it won't work. LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE. You are relying on a 1929 model that didn't work. FDR's treasury secretary said 7 years into the depression that we spent all this money and have nothing to show for it.
