@videoanator I've been to a couple Bose stores. The first time I went to critically listen to the Lifestyle 48, I listened to a $2000 or so Paradigm Cinema system the day before, so I had something to compare it to. I also had been listening to my family's $2000 or so Wharfedale system, and my pair of Paradigm Atom Monitors.
Before I heard the LS48, I expected it to be somewhat good. However, when I heard it, it was WORSE than I thought it would be. The last thing I saw (and heard) was beauty.

dude your using the surround receiver so the bass is always gonna lack for a receiver that produces surround sound man

You can replace the speakers by an other brand.
Put the box in a corner for more bass.
I've German Visaton speakers. Enormus groove bass and cheap.
Bose very nice speakers to look at.

sorry but dali wins to bose hands down....bose shud be put around about the same page as sony...this guy is smart he got bose and sony mix same qaulity maybe sony is a little better tho but my dali blue 6006 speakers have gone up against all house bose system w/o sub for both setups and dali was crisper and produces low bass and are verry amp friendly no wattage on them but i put them around the 300w mark as they keep up with 300w A.L. P.A SPEAKERS...but not bad for the price the bose 201,s

People should put down Bose. You will always get quality with them. It will always sound different over a video, and so you can't get an accurate judge. Take my advice and go to a Bose store. Only there will you see the true beauty of Bose

I have to say BOSE isnt good, and their sound reproduction is not all that accurate. However, there is nothing else i would like more than to listen to my BOSE speakers at night. They are relaxing, and just perfect for relaxing the ears. They are one of the best for the general market, not the audiophile types. And most people just dismiss Bose without spending much time with it. Over time, the bose will grow onto you, and you will see its unique side.

Just don't buy Bose, please... It's in no way worth your money. There's so much better, cheaper speakers on the market. Wharfedale Diamonds, the little Klipsches, even Jamo has some nice affordable speakers nowadays. Please, please don't do Bose.

Instead of getting bose at all, get B&W 686 with a B&W 608 Sub. :)
