If you were on the Plateau, or downtown in Montreal and any where near a bar last Friday May 14th, you know there was a Habs game on. Cheering at each goal can be heard a block away. And when the Canadiens won that night against the Pittsburgh Penguins, the cheering crowds hit the streets. But strangely enough, after a win, a downtown SAQ was broken-into and completely emptied.
A part of the cheering crowd broke into the liquor store and looted it entirely. Police officers in riot gear threw pepper spray into the crowd, and dozens of arrests were made. This vandalism was pointed at Montreal businesses, even after a playoff win.
CUTV talked to some Montrealers on Ste Catherines to find out what they think of the rioting and looting that goes down after the games.
Who do you think caused the riots after the Habs games? Were you there? What did you see happening?
