Thanks for the feedback! I'm not sure what my next videos are going to be, probably something related to video production. Unfortunately, I only have the time to make videos related to what I'm teaching and there isn't too much Photoshop happening at the moment! Thanks once again for your very kind feedback :)

Ok I was reading a tutorial on Basic Retouch and Colorization. In one step it said to create a layer mask and fill in with black then paint with white and it showed in the next image how your screen should look. In the next image there was both a white and black layer mask. There was nothing in there about making a mask then duplicating that layer. Then I saw another one where folders were made and in their screen it seem to automatically add a copy of the image to the folder.

There are different ways to make masks. In this tutorial, I've simply created a layer mask, then painted on that mask to reveal/show what's on that layer. I can't speak for other tutorials, this is the way I do it.
