he said TUNE ..... METAPHYSICAL......

@Owunthrizzel You raise a valid point, but I'm sure you are just as good or better than Arturo to make these judgments. It would seem so by looking at your channel. You play bass trombone. Seems legit.....

@Owunthrizzel fuck you his stuff still sounds amazing
-
@aaronentresz if it were a perfect world you'd be able to play like all 3 :)

That guy plays FAT sound, on such a thin-looking ligature. Not that I know any better.

if improvising was just based on how high and fast you can play then arturo would be the greatest trumpeter of all time but its not. his phrasing is pretty dull. he just plays high and fast. ive heard him play some really tasty stuff before but he usually juat plays like this and he's not saying a whole lot. roditi is using sensible phrasing and a genuine approach to the tune. arturos just showin off his chops....yawn.

I tend to agree with other people about Arturo. Sure, he has probably the biggest range, and makes the screech stuff look easy. But, once the novelty wears off, his playing can tend to become a little monotonous. That is why i'd rather play like Dizzy or Roditi.
