im gonna have to object to the idea of self rule here. You are still just being represented by representatives. And there is no doubt that most institutions in Libya were public (state owned).

@KDN888 The only one speaking BS is you, he poured almost all of the oil money into infrastructure which is why their standard of living was so high. It was why they had a profitable agriculture sector in the desert, it is why everyone had homes and their medical system was good. Before the Eu and u.s. brought in their mercenaries to start a civil war with the lifg, goldman sachs stole billions he had invested for the country.

@willreasonprevail what BS you speak. Gadaffi did build golden palaces for himself and his children and friends. Lybia is oil rich but all the money is sucked up by corrupted leaders.

Understanding the Libyan System of Government Under #Gaddafi

Gaddafi's thinking seems to be close to Arab Socialism (Ba'athism) and National Socialism, as in there should be no wage-slavery, but partnership; services are not 'wealth' instead productive, healthy growth is wealth. It sees the nation as a social project, with the political apparatus functioning purely as a directive, not as a management that involve themselves in every detail as we have here in the West.Recognising that what the Libyan people have in common is stronger than what divides them

There was once a beautiful castle that had a strong foundation. This castle had rats trying to enter to devour this castle and take all its treasures. The rats alone could not eat away at the foundation because it was strong enough to repel them. But these scientists called Nato fed the rats steroids which gave the rats the capacity to destroy this beautiful castle and kill the king. Will the kings men honour their king? Lets wait and see.

quadaffi is alive and well. the man that died for president quadaffi his
was only his bodydouble. quadaffi is alive forever fools.
i believe gaddafi is probably the single greatest man to have ever lived not just a leader, in 40 years he took a bankrupt nation to debt free, a feat never achieved by any pope, president, king or nobel peace price winner in all of history, proving he above all men put all the income back into the country and his people, built the great river to green a nation and never built a gold palace for himself.same 40 years U.S bankrupt itself and afghanis, and U.S tell libyans their system is better?
