@dcar4225 Hendrix is the best. Especially live. He and Mitch Mitchell could have mopped the floor with Zeppelin in a battle of the bands. Mitch new his moves and they never once fumbled together. I watch this performance all the time, because it's fun, but they fuck up a lot. Listen to any live versions of Red House or Hear My Train a Comin' and they're master compositions. And most of the music is improvised. Page was a better riff writer. That's all. Hendrix, Page and then Clapton.

@dcar4225 You'e comparing quantiy - well its obvious Page is going to have more material becaused he will have lived much longer. Does that mean he was necessarily better? Not by any means.

You should try reading about Hendrix - how he would meticulously produce, arrange his work - that was the case during the electric ladyland sessions.

@psirou Like I said, Hendrix is the best guitar player of all time, and I admit that. But if you could please list every song that Hendrix wrote, composed and produced, as opposed to the songs that Page wrote, composed and produced, you'll find the Page catalogue is a wee bit better.

I don't like those debates as to who was better - as I absolutely love Page and Led Zeppelin, but to say that Page was better than Hendrix on each of those aspects - writing, composing, producing..

You are just being biased. To affirm that Page is 10 times better just proves that either you've not listened to Hendrix, or you are just a stubborn fan, wanting to one-up someone else with a game ofmy daddy's better than yours.

@psirou I admit Hendrix is the best guitar PLAYER of all time. But it takes more than just playing to be a complete guitarist. Page is a 10 times better writer, composer, producer, arranger etc. One of the reasons why the music of Zeppelin will live on forever while the best of Hendrix will just keep getting more dated. Hendrix could play, but Page can do everthing!
