http://www.wellsve.com In this video you will see how to accurately test for a defective TPS or APPS. An in depth interview with the engineer behind a new TPS technology called non-contact. With this new technology there is no mechanical wear on a TPS, making future failures virtually non existent.

  • The magnet rotates in conjunction with the accelerator pedal, and the IC measures the changing magnetic field and produces the electrical signal. Since the magnet and IC are not in contact with each other, the electrical wear has been eliminated.

  • @nobleheight In the previous design, the electrical signal was produced by a set of contact fingers moving across a polymer resistor. The electrical wear I was referring to was the wear between the contact fingers and resistor during the millions of cycles that constitute a part’s lifetime. We eliminated both components and replaced them with an integrated circuit (IC) and magnet.
