8F 45160 Arrives at Barry for The Tall Ships Festival 02/09/2011

An LMS built 8F repatriated from Turkey, arrived at Barry today from The Gloucestershire & Warwickshire Railway to join another member of the class still to be renovated at Barry Tourist Railway Depot . This event will be part of the popular Barry Waterfront Tall Ships Tournament taking place on this weekend the 3rd and 4th September 2011. The loco and tender were transported separately and safely by Allelys Heavy Haulage of Warwickshire. Mrs M and I were visiting Barry on another matter and came across this by pure chance.In this video we see former Eurostar Class 73/1 73118 manoeuvring the locomotive to be reunited with its tender

you learn something new every day, that there were class 73s called "eurostars", thanks Bob, and as usual a fine video of the occasion, its amazing to still find engines to add to the list of preserved loco's in the UK, not least the ex NCB tar tanks on the rolling stock list. cheers.

@penninefilms It is indeed, there was another 45166 inside the sheds and a further loco elsewhere in the UK all of which have been repatriated from Turkey....Bob

@johnwood57 These are Stanier designed,LMS built 8F locos which were sent to Turkey for War Duties. They have been brought back to the UK and preserved into their original condition as seen here. ...Bob
