Tonight is actually my first night starting Taekwondo. You are actually my inspritation. I am also plus sized and had a few concerns about not being able to keep up. Thanks for the post!

Congrats! And congrats on getting even higher on the belts! I have taken Karate for over 3 years and while I refused to belt with this last one, I was equivalent to our Orange or Blue (4th level above White.) I refused to belt because my first teacher was so belt happy I didn't think he was paying as much attention to the skills as he should have been. And it just became a habit. I had to quit after I lost my job a year ago. Still hoping to go back after I get a job again.

Nope, plain ol Karate. Tae Kwon DO I do wanna try however. I am purple belt now. I have had to take a hiatus because I have been laid-off all summer. No moolay to pay for Karate. Work starts back up soon however so I am excited to finally go back to KA school.

i've seen yellow and orange belts of other styles being sloppy with their forms and stuff, but you looked very good. it's like you've been doing it forever! you definitely deserved that belt promotion and i hope you make it to black belt!

Thank so much for your kind comments! I have always been interested in Karate and the Martial Arts so this opportunity to finally learn has been a blessing. I love doing it! I am going to promoting to Purple belt in two weeks. :)
