It must have been a really good experience to live through and document this trip, but I must have to say that it is pretty immoral, unethical, not to mention illegal to publicly display patient charts. I mean, if I were helping a cause such as this, I would show my respect to every patient and not make them any more vulnerable than they already are. Just a thought for how you choose to display your self and you video.

@harly30 Well, the Doctor actually asked the little girl what part of Guatemala she was from, and if you would have taken the time to look at a map instead of precisely timing the moment in which the question occured, you would have learned that Guatemala is the Capital city of Guatemala. Just like Tokyo is the capital city of Japan, hahahaha.........

oh gosh! You help the needy because it is in your heart to give to the poorest of the poorest. It is your moral obligation as Christian people that you might be. In Guatemala, we have the highest population of indigenous people. They need assistance, they need help. Just like in another third world country, we have dictators. we've governments that they do not care for their citizens. I'll suggest to learn about our culture. Thank you in advance for your help to the poorest of my Guatemala.

as our intent never reveals a solution other the one created in our minds that has told us that we in fact have a purpose as doctors becouse we help poor kids, Isnt the only problem being solved within ourselves?
Is it not selfish? if so, what difference does it make who we heal either poor or rich american or guatemalan, if we are nothing more than a doctor and a patient, where the patient who we heal, heals us. regardless of the country whose problems are unsolvable?

we stand in I G N O R A N C E, and we become the reflection of the poor, who we try to help, who also stand where we stand unable to reach us because to them we don't exist
Notice at 4:28, The doctor forgots were he was at. Where are you from? Guatemala?
hahahaha no Im from Japan HAHAHAHAHA BRILLIANT!!! oh and another thing, the girl definetely does not look how the poor look in Guatemala.

Perhaps you should try and work 12 hour days doing surgeries and being in a series of intense situations in a foreign environment with sub-par working conditions, not to mention lack of air-conditioning. This particular comment is quite immature and is a reflection of your desperation to attack anything you can.

if this is an attack, there must be a war, WISE, is one that perceives what my enemy is.
If this is desperation, where does my lack of hope arise from? if this is immaturity where is my lack of character if in fact the above might have meaningfull answers?
If the missions are fine for helping some people in guatemala? ..............

So, is there a solution? Or are these comments more philosophical than anything else? What should be done? What shouldn't be done? Should we do anything at all?

Education is the solution in guatemala, and the elite should no longer be the elite.

Great answer. I can't agree with you more :)
