3:10PM, 1/10/10 - Filmed at Maple Ave grade crossing, Montebello, CA.

well, this is not my best shot though, post it here just for the record or who just want to see it. :P

The longest/monster Union Pacific double stack/intermodal train headed for ICTF, Carson, CA. (nine locomotives, 500 plus containers) I heard this is just a test train, so you won't see this for everyday.

Train IDILBF 08 with nine GE units : UP 7454, UP 7419, UP 7462, UP 7800, UP 5318, UP 7792, UP 7773, UP 7667, UP 7680, departed 10:00AM, 1/8/10, Dit, Texas for ICTF, Carson/Long Beach, California. (arrived ICTF 4:30PM, 1/10/10)

According to the UP spokesman, this train is loaded, carried furniture, clothing, electronics and other goods for export.

  • Holy shit... how long did it took to put all those things together? just imagine xD

  • Wow!! That is one, long, Union Pacific, freight train. :P

  • how many cars long?

  • @BrouwerHungary Yes, they were controlled via a wireless connection.

  • o.O

  • Can a us engineer answer a norwegian engineer this, can a dpu locomotive apply brakes or refill the main brakeline (to release brakes)? Here the whole brakeline must be filled from the frontmost loco where the driver sits.

  • @502nuts BNSF and UP are running some big trains, but I haven't seen any more of this size. All in all though, these big trains are no longer that unusual.

  • Oh my holy God, this IS train! I wont be there if it derails... How are the locos controlled? Radio connection?

  • maybeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, there will be longer trains in the future veeeeeeeeeeeeeeery nice,i also tried this in my ho scale until now,its still running every now and then..........
