Took some shots with my Canon HG10 in 60i mode and in 24p Cine mode. I wanted to see what the difference looked like between the two filming the same subject.

I think it came out pretty cool. Not sure which one I like the most.

  • @killakori The HG10 does shoot in full HD! It's when you transfer from cam to pc is when its gets compressed down to 1440x1080.

  • @TheOshimoshi Wrong again! I own the HG10 and have a beast for a PC. The HG10does not shoot "true" HD. It actually shoots 1440x1080 with a 1.333 pixel aspect ratio. It also does not shoot "24p". It actually shoots "24pf", which is 24p inside of a 60i container. Pull-down is required to get true 24p. Yes, It looks amazing on the RAW files and obviously will downgrade with YouTube, but that's not what I was arguing. I was arguing FPS. Can you not see any difference in 60i and 24p in my video?

  • @killakori you either DONT own the G10, or you have crap for a PC .... the shots this camera is capable of (outside of what you see here on YT) are true HD and Cinema 24P... excellent camera.

  • @Slug99 I disagree. The footage that you see on YouTube looks EXACTLY the same as the raw files on my computer. There is absolutely no difference between the two. So, whether or not YouTube plays videos back in 24p, 30p or 60i, what you see here is how the video will look straight out of the camera.

  • @killakori Well, it sort of undermines the entire premise of this video, seeing that your 60i footage is converted into 30p.
