The Fairview Middle School band program scores straight Superiors at the FBA District band evaluation on March 6, 2008!!

The Fairview Middle School Symphonic Band performs Irish Trilogy by Larry Daehn, music only attempted and played by high schools (reportedly).

The Fairview Symphonic Band is comprised of 7th and 8th graders.

Directed by Mr. Carmen Williams

Soloist: Tanner Repasky, oboe (third movement)

Kudos to our wonderful trumpet section for rushing consistently in the third movement of the piece, pulling the rest of the band with it! :P

my sophomore year of high school we played this for the honor band piece at a band competition...honestly, it was one of my favorite pieces i've ever played...and i've been in band for nine years...you guys did a really good job for being in middle school...i don't think i could've ever done this in middle school...i knew basically nothing about band in middle school...good job, you guys

We played this in our high school band. I've listened to both of the recordings and find this to be excruciatingly awful! Tubas dragging, flutes out of tune... Sheesh!

But we were the honors band, so for middle schoolers, these kids are actually really good.

So last year, my advanced band (8th grade level) played this and we definitely owned these guys. It's not THAT hard though it is a little tricky - I must say. Our third movement was sloppy but their trumpets rushed like CrAzY! And flutes and clarinets are rushing in the first one but still..really good for a middle school.
