@Emberland the thing is the way interpret genre is all opinion and in mine Black Flag, The Misfits, The Dead Kinedys, The Spits, The Clash ect.... are true punk bands

@lovelaj0149 The only punk roots they had were the fact that Mould was in the Hüskers. Whether you count by sound or by aesthetic, Fucked Up are a punk band. Sugar was released on Ryko and Creation, and his own records are released on Virgin and Ryko, all affiliated with majors. Fucked Up are on Matador, and release tons of material themselves. Plus, y'know, they actually sound like a punk band. : ) But we may just have to agree to disagree on this one.
