Actually, GM doesn't consider it a hybrid as it doesn't run on gas...the gas engine is only used as a generator for the lithium-ion battery...

@2010gameguy But GM did admit that at speeds above 70mph with the generator on, the engine is mechanically linked to the wheels. So it makes it a hybrid, but they did say that by doing that, it boosted efficiency by 10-15%.

@JDYDesigns The key is protection of the environment, without clean air to breath, and a safe planet that is not to warm from climate change people and other species may not even survive, and we must remember many species due to human activites have already gone extinct, real guys care about the evironment, which I am sure you do, it impresses healthy women too.

people say this whole electric conversion thing is pointless... the cars are quiet, slow, but great for the environment. real car guys like me dont like them. i say that we should let them keep improving these things. i think chevy should make an all electric sports car, with fake exhaust tips tham make a V8 exhaust sound. and let them keep figuring out how to make them faster. i like my camaros, vettes, ect. but these are the next sports cars.

Many use 100% EVs in cities as they make sense. Then use, or rent, a larger car for long distance.

Are "highly economical" when charging from the mains.

They are eco in towns and cities, with few harmful emissions.

Brake regen puts energy back into battery which is reused to power the car.

Lith-ion batteries are not toxic. 90% of metals are reused.

Batteries will last 15 years.

By the time they are replaced newer better, longer range batteries will be available transforming the car - battery technology is advancing very fast.
