I Review, And You Can Too

You can review, too! The music reviewing community here on youtube is one of the tightest knit groups the site has to offer, and it continues to grow day by day. This blog examines the joys and downfalls of reviewing. Anybody can do what I do, and some will even do it better than I do. That said, the only way to have your voice heard and face seen on these musical matters (aside from commenting) is to review albums yourselves, and join the community. We would be more than happy to have you.

However, this also may serve as more of a challenge to any person who hates or leaves shallow, baseless comments on any video uploaded by any member of this community. the challenge is to do this yourself, and have your differing opinion heard by the masses. if we report something you disagree with, record and post the argument, or a review on the other side of the fence. if you're just going to attack how people do things, say things, or make assumptions about their life outside the community, your opinion is pretty much useless, and you're posting most of these things to shield your own situations.

Above all, i hope this is an invitation some of you will take, and hope to see more peers within the community! enjoy the video, and hope to be watching some of yours in the future.

@Fuzorz no, thank you! your voice is heard in its own unique way through writing for the blog. its a different animal than youtube reviews since the viewer doesn't have the option of observing your facial expressions or body language. either way, i do hope you give it a shot here on YT. international representation would be awesome in the community!

You have really inspired me to do album reviews =) I think i may start off by doing the whole Cradle of Filth discography as you did Opeth. I've been actually taking notes from your video's to prepare. Catch is I'm 16 and I have a speech impediment that makes me sound like Elmer fud. But dammit that is not gonna stop me from doing something I am very interested in. Thank you for opening my eyes to a new hobby. I cannot wait to get into this stuff!

@roscobrownie I tend to not write stuff down and sometimes stumble with words too, people say I should use a script but Id rather try to think up what Im saying, looks better for me when I try to just draw from my memory on the spot.

I like doing my own reviews, I don't do it better then anyone else in fact I probably am not that good, I just do it to get my thoughts out there on albums and just lifes general stuff too if I desire lol

I don't like reviewing. I like commenting on other reviews. I like hearing people talk about music that they REALLY know. That's why I want you to review some more classics, because you'd know them better than a recent album. I can't really do reviews, but I do lists (my 90's list is almost complete), and that kind of gives a mini review of each album. But full on reviews suck when I try to do them.

I've actually thought about reviewing myself for a long time. I remember all the way back when I was looking for reviews in the youtube community that I found the Coverkiller channel, when then there were only like, 8 videos or so. Already then I was interested, but I'm the worlds biggest procrasinator so yeah. I'm planning to do some this summer after that long time. Needless to say, you were a big inspiration and motivation in doing so Coverkiller, I hope wou'll watch mine when the time comes.

Bravo! You and Anthony are my favourite reviewers. Although i never subscribed i've followed your vids since your early uploads on the old account with the poor, grainy camera and what always appealed to me was how compelling a speaker you are on music. It wasnt fancy backgrounds or such that drew me in. Heck, personally i dont even like most of the bands you review but i still love to hear what you discuss/bring to the surface. Keep up the good work CKN.
