He was a junkie and fell off a toilet after overdosing.

Oh man, i remember this soo clearly. i was 10 when he died, networks abc, cbs, nbc and even pbs interrupted programming for a bulletin to announce his death, they didnt even do that when mj died. the cable news networks jumped on it fast, but not the magnitude of interrupting programming of when Elvis died.I was in tears, my mom was in tears, my aunt called my mom, phone lines were jammed across the country. man there was sniveling all over the globe damn near

This was an actual journalist Not a friggin tv personality
-
He delivered the news in the straightforward manner as he should have.
-
LOL that newscaster sucks. He doesn't have to break down sobbing but damn. Show some signs of life and interest in what you are delivering to the audience.

@Thapollos1 Elvis has sold over a billion records/albums. Frank isnt even close to that.
I like Frank, but he s not even close to the KING>

@daveyvol sinatra lasted 50 years and got a number 1 album when he was 80 elvis lasted only 21 years and he did half the work sinatra ever did, btw elvis is one of my favourite singers but sinatra is too so to say you cant compare the two is right cos sinatra is in another league
-
That is laughable they compare sinatra to Elvis
-
Elvis singing Big Momma Thorton s Hounddog...
-
@KenfromDublin You mean, he sounded like an actual professional journalist instead of some TMZ cocksucker?
-
I always liked how David Brinkley was always so calm and decided when reporting the news. I'd rather have someone like him than the very shrill people on the news today.
-
Please enjoy my delicious Kentucky Fried Chicken.
-
The great music thief. He would be proud of EMinem
-
They don't make them David Brinkley and Chet Huntley, anymore . . .
-
@zzaldoushuxleyzz A fellow southerner, David Brinkley (from North Carolina) reporting on the death of Mississippi born, Tennessee raised Elvis Presley.
-
This is when news and journalism had integrity. It's about the story stupid, not the anchor's emotions.
-
This news anchorman sounds like he hates his job. Wheres Veronica Corningstone when you need her (Anchorman reference)?
-
@cobalt100 sounds like you may have the same problem. HA!
-
For those of you who are taking potshots at Brinkley, this is the way television used to be done. It was straight across the table, and no emotion was shown, unlike the touchy-feely emotional crap that passes for reporting on television these days. The way it was done then, there was no editorializing as they do it today. And unlike today, there were no sacred cows.

I wish all News reports would get right to the point like this one. I hate when they tease you with a really big story and make you watch for 20 min to finally hear it. I just change the channel when they do that.

Here's another guy I didn't like. Sure, he was a showman, but he couldn't stay away from young girls who threw their panties at him. That's why Priscilla left him. During a post-mortem, a pathologist noticed that Presley had an enlarged intestine and severe blockage. In short, he was full of himself. HA!

Wish I'd known him to get a Cadillac, I'm also a fan....of Cadillacs that is! haha Pres Hopeful Michelle Bachmann thought he was born on the date he died. I'd remind people thinking of voting for her as President, she's not smart enough!!
that is david brinkley, one of the most respected anchormen who ever lived!

@KenfromDublin I don't want the anchorman's FUCKING EMOTION getting in the way of a hard news report. Brinkley was an old school journalist. They didn't do emotion. They did news.
