The singing`s not so pretty and I managed to get a couple of verses out of order and omit at least one but, what the hell, it`s only YouTube....
I`m playing, after a fashion, my ca. 1890 George Washburn banjo strung with gut strings. (and the kids thought the cat ran away....)

  • THATS SOO COOL :D LOVE IT !!

  • beautiful mellow sound you got there. would love to know which tuning you're using. more please !! loved it!

  • @MsMickeyness Many thanks. I`ve got the old (1880s) George Washburn banjo strung with gut and tuned down to open D (5th D, 4th A, 3rd D, 2nd F# 1st A). The relationship between the strings is the same as when tuned to open G.

  • loved it!

  • Thanks!

  • Thanks. I appreciate your having gone to the trouble.

  • I apologize for that and removed the comment. Not an excuse but I was not in a great frame of mind for other reasons. Still, keep up the good work!

  • I`m not a fan of P.E.T.A. either but don`t care much for your vulgar language; too bad people find it difficult to express themselves these days without resorting to potty-mouth talk.

Aside from that, thanks for the kind words.
