  • This is the best scary movie that's ever been made. Hands down.

  • Agreed! Haven't seen this in years but the bond between mother and daughter is emphasized so much more than "where she is", and makes a ghost story actually touching, not just creepy.

  • A really great performance by Jobeth Williams - one of the best screen suburban Moms ever. Actually, this film features several classic "debuts" - notable fisr major performances from Williams, Craig T. Nelson (in one of his most tender roles), and the great (but to seldom seen!) Beatrice Straight (a real class act). And Zelda Rubinstein ain't so bad herself!

  • Damnit... This part always gets to me.. And makes me think at how my Mom would be .. in her position...

  • I cry when she says "hello daddy" because my dad left me awhile ago and this movie has "history " in my life. if u want 2 know, email me & ill tell u

  • @true505 JoBeth Williams is the unsung hero. Everyone loves Heather O'Rourke and how iconic she became in this movie, but JoBeth really anchors this film. I can't think of how her performance could have been any better.

  • This is one of the best scenes in any movie of all time. Jo Beth Williams is an amazing actress. How do they think they can ever remake this film....

  • @heeter71 I agree.

  • I wish we could see where Carol Anne was during this scene

  • This is my favorite scene.
