@megatron291 It most likely wasn't a "good" car. No engine, no drivetrain, no real interior.
Why wreck a perfectly good car body is the appropriate term here. The answer is, to demonstrate how the fire department deals with car crashes.
If you watch the full vid you can read it yourself.
Why a brand new car? Because whatever movie is going to use it needs credability. You don't get that from crashing a 1980's rusty old Ford Escort.
