10minutes mines a cluster server w/ intel xenon E7-4870 (10core) in each of 3 pcs, 3 ati radion 6990x /ea, and 1tb of ssd storage (2 kingston 512gb) in each for a total of 3tb of ssd storage

I swear to god my comp logs in my user in 3.76 seconds using ipod timer and it only is a Windows xp sp3 32bit amd athlon 4200+ OC'd to 2.80 ghz 9400gt geforce 3.0gb ddr2 and boot takes about 29 seconds . btw if you dont belive me go and search "how to make xp faster" and click on the first one with zune theme thats what helpoed alot!

mine is a single core processor (old one) Celeron 2000 and only 1 GB DDR, see my video response.. ubuntu seems to be faster even taking in account that's an older computer .. watch?v=qpQWfFqwzkk

N00b, my laptop sucks (it has 1GB RAM and a 60 GB hard drive) and it takes about the same speed to boot.

Mine takes 1:40 sec but it used to be alot faster!!

The best time I saw for my setup was 34.7 seconds..to windows screen..52 seconds total to open my browser..

I've got Windows 7 RC now, and it would take about 2 mins with Google Chrome.
With Vista about 4 mins if lucky

and it takes 1min 41secs

Dude if your serious, there is something BADLY wrong with your computer. It should boot in like 10 - 20 secs
