  • Good day mate, I have the 24-120mm F4 VR Nano, and now I'm having some problems with the lens. 1. The distortion is way too much. 2. It gives me quite a lot of flare when shooting outdoor.

    So, I'm asking should I sell this lens and buy the 24-70mm f2.8 G N ?

and will the 24-70mm F2.8 G N get rid of the two problems i'm having with my current lens ?

  • @VIPER1344 the 24 70 is great for low distortion and flare - still depends on your shooting style though.

  • Hi Matt, excuse, but can you make a video comparing the 24-70mm f2.8 nikkor vs 24-70mm f2.8 sigma lenses?

  • @NIKONShoots yes I want to - will try early 2012.

  • I must say this lens is MOST of the time on my D700. The ONLY comment I can make on this piece is that when you store the lens with the hood facing backwards, it comes so easily off during transport in a bag. It doesn't lock in like when using it facing the front of the lens.

After I upgraded to the Lowepro Fastpack 350, I can attach the hood facing forward and don't have to worry about it.

I use the 50mm F/1.8 G and the 105mm F/2.8 VR in hand with this 24-70mm F/2.8 and is best for my style..

  • Nice approach Matt and look forward to other videos!

  • @SaDScO Yeah I only just starting reading forum posts about the zoom ring becoming 'crunchy'. I guess that means that I'll have to be ripped off with the AU stock.

  • @elbeasto71 I would by USA, because some jam up on the zoom. Mines did. I bought it used, and the zoom was stiff already, and at one point, it just completely jammed up. Nikon fixed it for me for around 260, by fixed i mean they just gave me a new lens.

  • i just got one...replaced my 28-70

  • So you think it's fairly safe buying grey with this lens?

    Thanks :)

  • hi Matt, would you be able to make a video comparison for 24-70mm f2.8 and 24-120mm f4?

    Thanks in advance... Cheers
