No thanks for the birthday. The seperation was a stage. Firstly, to create problems with Malaya in order to get independance. Secondly, to lock up hundreds of political activist in jail.
Why? Because he want Singapore all by his own.
Others were denied to prove themselves. Any one of them could have done much better than what it is now.
That cry was a fake.

My thoughts too. He felt that with the separation, Singaporeans who'd pinned all trust in him were left high and dry, and that he''d let us down.
Turns out this was a blessing n disguise...and what a RED DOT Singapore has turned out to be!
