A quick response to some of the issues raised in "A Vision of Students Today."
Note: I had some technical problems due to compatibility issues of the different models of Flip cameras. There are a few second of black space about 3/4ths of the way through which I was having a hard time fixing. Just pretend like it's artsy and cool.
Other Note: Yes, this video does imply that frustration in school leads directly to drug use.
I teach at a traditional middle school, and, since visiting Forest Park, I often long to teach at a school like that for poor and inner city children.

@magdalene74 Interesting. I think there may be a solution in school models like Forest Park Middle in Roanoke City. Basically, the kids do all their instruction on computers with headphones. It eliminates a lot of the discipline problems and allows teachers to circulate more freely, since most of the time the kids are occupied with their computer terminal.

So, do you have any suggestions for fixing these problems? Do you think virtual schools would be better suited to todays students? Do you think that is even possible with the number of students who have no parents home during the day? Is your technology used to the best advantage? Where are the parents of the children who are turning to drugs?
