As part of A-CET's continuing community rural elementary schools upgrading programme in Northern Ethiopia, Sir Bob Geldof on behalf of the Band Aid Trust opened Hagere Selam School on 24 Nov 2009. In cooperation with the local administration and communities, A-CET has now built and furnished four
schools with two more nearing completion, giving places to over 3,000 farming children with closer access to better quality education. All materials are locally sourced and these government run schools are
self-sustaining from day one.
